PARKER´S SNAKE-NECKED TURTLE


CHARACTERISTICS
Its shell is oval, smooth and elongated (to 26,7 cm) with a smooth posterior border. The shell is uniformly brown to dark brown, or there may be some yellow flecks on the front and back edges. The males have a longer and thicker shell, and their tail is flatter than the females.
DIET
Mainly fish.
REPRODUCTION
They lay their eggs between November and February. After incubation at 27-33 ° C, the young are born within around 90 days. The young have an average shell length of 35 mm and 6g in weight.
CURIOSITIES
It is aquatic, and like other turtles it has interdigital membranes to facilitate movement. Its neck is ¾ of the size of its shell and from here comes the name of snake-neck.
