- Their principal feature is the strong and fetid smell secreted by their anal glands. This smell is emitted when the skunk feels threatened.

- They are omnivores and therefore can feed from insects, eggs, fruit, small mammals, birds and honey.
- REPRODUCTION
- Female skunks have a gestation period of 55 days and give birth to between 1 and 10 offspring. These feed on maternal milk for approximately 10 weeks.

- The white on black colour indicates to predators that it has some type of defence, in this case a fetid smell.
