STRIPED SKUNK

CHARACTERISTICS
Their principal feature is the strong and fetid smell secreted by their anal glands. This smell is emitted when the skunk feels threatened.
DIET
They are omnivores and therefore can feed from insects, eggs, fruit, small mammals, birds and honey.
REPRODUCTION
Female skunks have a gestation period of 55 days and give birth to between 1 and 10 offspring. These feed on maternal milk for approximately 10 weeks.
CURIOSITIES
The white on black colour indicates to predators that it has some type of defence, in this case a fetid smell.
