CHARACTERISTICS
It is similar to a kangaroo rabbit, with long bushy tail and large, narrow and straight ears. It can jump as far as two metres distance. It lives alone or in a pair, in this case the female digs extensive burrows. It has five specialist front claws, which it uses to hunt.
DIET
Seeds, stalks, bulbs... and even locusts, beetles and other invertebrates.
REPRODUCTION
It does not have a preferred mating period. The sole offspring is born at any time of year. It is suckled in the main reproductive burrow for approximately 7 weeks.
CURIOSITIES
It sleeps supine with the head resting on its hind quarters or the tail wrapped around the whole body. It uses its long tail to sit upright.
