Trumpet-shaped nose.
The mouth is located at eye level, and it is a section of the lower jaw which extends in a mobile organ like a trunk, in the shape of an elongated appendage.
The general colour of the fish is quite discreet, very dark brown.
DIET
It feeds on small worms and other aquatic invertebrates.
REPRODUCTION
The sexual differences in the fish and their reproductive process are unknown as reproduction has never been achieved in captivity. It is thought they may build floating nests.
CURIOSITIES
It has a weak electrical field which it uses to communicate, identify objects, fish and other beings it comes across in the water, which is particularly useful in the muddy waters of poor visibility that they live in.
