The body and head reach from 51 to 60 cm. in length. The tail reaches up to 55 to 60 cm. Their weight is 3.0 to 4.5 kg. with the average weight of the females being 3.51 Kg. and that of the males 3.47 kg.
Its neck has a mane and its face has a snout like a dog. The male and female are the same.
DIET
Their diet consists of fruit and is complemented with leaves and nectar.
REPRODUCTION
The females only breed once a year. The gestation period takes around 102 days. The mothers build a nest with twigs and cove it with their own fur.
The newborn remain in the nest for some three weeks. They usually have two, and up to three, offspring in each birth
CURIOSITIES
They remain in family groups. The females are more dominant than the males.
They have the second loudest call of any primate, just behind the howler monkey.
