DIET
Ichthyophagous or piscivores.
REPRODUCTION
They nest in colonies. They build nests of twigs upon vegetation such as trees, bushes and mangrove swamps. The clutch tends to consist of two eggs. Incubation takes around 30 days.
CURIOSITIES
While they swim they form a semicircle, then with great coordination they all begin to beat their wings against the water while they continue to swim, without breaking the semicircle. In so doing they drive the fish to a location of shallow depth. With their goal achieved, each pelican puts his or her head under the water and obtains their due sustenance.
