REPRODUCTION
They nest in colonies and make their nests on the ground. The clutch tends to consist of two eggs. The squabs look after themselves after 75 days.
CURIOSITIES
While they swim they form a semicircle, then with great coordination they all begin to beat their wings against the water while they continue to swim, without breaking the semicircle. In so doing they drive the fish to a location of shallow depth. With their goal achieved, each pelican puts his or her head under the water and obtains their due sustenance.
