CHARACTERISTICS
They have some feathers on the head which are very characteristic, and which serve to measure the intensity and direction of the wind, and they are involved in courtship. There is no sexual dimorphism.
DIET
Invertebrates and lizards.
REPRODUCTION
It breeds in the open field, in grasslands and low-lying prairies, crops, or on fallow land, often close to water. In the breeding season, it forms groups of 1-10 individuals.
CURIOSITIES
The territorial call is very noisy and characteristic, with the very marked third note.
