GREY-WINGED TRUMPETER

CHARACTERISTICS
It has a rounded body, with long legs and neck. The neck is well feathered and dark in colour with violet and green iridescence. The wings are short, and being folded, make the body look bigger. There is no sexual dimorphism. They are gregarious animals, forming groups of up to 100 individuals. Although they are terrestrial, they tend to sleep in the branches of a tree that will protect them from their predators.
DIET
Termites, insects, spiders, centipedes and varied fruit.
REPRODUCTION
Little is known about the incubation, although it is thought they nest in tree hollows, in which only the female incubates 7 white eggs.
