
- CHARACTERISTICS
- The head and the body reach a length of some 19cm. The tail measures some 29cm. Its weight is from 190 to 359 grams.
They have odour glands located on the chest which serve to provide information regarding species, parentage, sex, receptivity and dominance of the specimen.
- DIET
- The diet consists of sap from the trees, fruit and invertebrates. It complements its diet with nectar, fungi and small vertebrates such as frogs and lizards.
- REPRODUCTION
- The gestation period is 5 months and two dizygotic twins tend to be born in 60% of cases.
The other members of the group help the young; the other members learn and win favours from the dominant pair, avoiding their aggressions.

La estructura social es la unidad familiar. Los integrantes de la familia se mantienen en relativa proximidad unos de otros, forman un grupo, según se trasladan por la vegetación en busca de su sustento. Se le ha visto en grupos integrados por hasta cinco individuos.

- In the wild it mixes with the Black-Tufted Marmoset (Callithrix penicillata).
The social structure is the family unit. The family members keep relatively close to each other, forming a group, as they move around the vegetation looking for sustenance. They have been seen in groups of up to five individuals.
