VIETNAMESE WALKING STICK


CHARACTERISTICS
It can measure between 10-12cm and we can find brown, green and bi-coloured specimen. This species in particular is totally wingless and the larger specimens may present some small protuberances on the body which look like warts.

REPRODUCTION
The females reproduce by parthenogenesis, in other words, they create fertile eggs without needing to be fertilised by a male. These eggs, in turn, will bring into the world another generation of fertile females who will reproduce the same although, now and then, a generation of males is produced capable of mating and fertilising, leading to a generation in which the majority of the specimens are males.
CURIOSITIES
Their habits are nocturnal and their movements just sufficient find food, remaining totally immobile while there is light.
