
- CHARACTERISTICS
- Size of between 1,6 m and 2 m.
The first dorsal and ventral fins on the caudal lobe have conspicuous black tips which are particularly striking. A white strip is visible on the flanks.
- DIET
- Predator of reef fish.
- REPRODUCTION
- They are viviparous. They lay between 2 and 4 eggs at a time.
When they are born they measure some 35 cm.
The gestation period lasts up to 16 m.
- CURIOSITIES
- This species prefers shallower waters close to the edges of the coral reefs, at a depth of just a few metres and frequently the intertidal zones, often on reef platforms, in water of 30cm depth or less.
